October 18, 2025, marks the 10th anniversary of the passing of Rudi Hoevelmann, co-founder along with Bill Mosgoll, of Ingadale Industries in 1967. Bill predeceased Rudi by just 14 months.

Rudi has been sorely missed by his wife Dale, daughter Donna and granddaughters Mara and Emily.

Rudi was instrumental in building Ingadale’s workforce, many of whom have spent their entire careers here. He was a kind and intelligent man with a fatherly interest in employees, both in their development as skilled workers and as people.

One of those people is Greg Holdsworth, Rudi’s brother-in-law and now General Manager of Ingadale.

A few decades into Ingadale’s history, the shop began to get jobs that were more complex–such as defence work. Rudi began searching for ways to cut costs to become more competitive. He found that work sent out for painting and passivating was not only incurring additional costs but increasing time to completion. Sometimes jobs requiring these services took weeks, whereas if they were completed in-house, they could be finished in a matter of days. So expertise in these processes was developed at Ingadale. Other jobs required welding and so certifications for steel and aluminum welding were acquired.  As more services were provided in-house, Ingadale was reducing the time from order-to-delivery. The desired results were achieved: lower cost–faster delivery.

Customers with whom Rudi built a relationship are still the core of Ingadale’s business.

The diverse service offering now available from Ingadale is largely due to Rudi’s vision of what an excellent precision machine shop should be.
